A beautiful and relaxing garden or even a terrace, are able to relax the nerves and relieve us of daily stress. To make something beautiful and useful in an outdoor space, we do not need to try to make something particularly complex, nor something very expensive. With smart solutions like garden furniture and plants we can do real miracles. For example, even a small space with some wooden garden furniture can create a relaxing atmosphere and offer us a “refuge” of calm.
Plants and flowers
Before buying garden furniture and other decorations, deal with the plants. Plant small or large shrubs and flowers with a simple color palette of one or two colors. Do not overdo it with the colors because this complexity is tiring instead of relaxing. Choose only a few different varieties of plants and flowers, but you can use them in large quantities, always depending on the dimensions of the outdoor space you want to shape. Use taller plants or even trees if it is a garden, placing them mainly at the edges, thus delimiting the space and creating something like a frame, in which the lower vegetation can be planted.
Choose flowers that attract butterflies and other beneficial insects and avoid plants such as peonies, which may be beautiful but attract ants and other annoying insects.
Outdoor furniture
Apart from the vegetation, of course, the garden furniture that you will choose is also very important. After all, you will use these in order to rest for all the other activities that you have in mind. The options are many, however it is good that the set of garden furniture or the terrace and the decorations that you will use have common elements visually. In other words, it is good to have similar or the same color and to be of the same material, such as wood, aluminum, mats, wicker, etc.
Make clever combinations and constructions. That is, you can place climbing plants in wooden trellis and choose a set of wooden furniture or in another case to make some construction from aluminum, combining e.g. with aluminum sunbeds.
Arrange the chairs, armchairs and sofas in such a way that you take advantage of as much of the space as possible and orient them with a view to an attraction or relaxation point, if of course this is possible. The colors of the pillows should also match the overall composition.
Finally, do not forget to create shade in the space. The best choice in this case is a large wicker umbrella or a canvas umbrella . Of course if the space is large good it may be to use more umbrellas in number.
