At Omprela we seek to particularly support our local and national economy, while using to the maximum ecological materials, absolutely environmentally friendly. For this reason we trust as the main material of our constructions an amazing gift of Greek nature: the incomparable natural rod in durability and efficiency.

This unique product grows in swamps and shores of lakes, rivers and canals all over the country. It has a solid, woody and knotted shoot, which is very flexible and resistant to damage and time, while aesthetically it is the only material that blends so harmoniously with the Greek landscape, the color of the sand and the Greek sea.

The reed that we use for our umbrellas and other constructions comes from the wider area of Lake Kerkini, one of the most important wetlands in Greece, but also in the whole of Europe. His collection offers income to the local community and especially to its lower income strata. The experienced hands of Omprela workers collect the best reed, always new collection, annual vegetation, thin and golden yellow to be used in the weaving of straw beach umbrellas.
